More than 40 percent of American adults identify as being lonely or depressed because they have trouble forming social bonds with others. As a society in general we have gone from having many personal relationships to only seeing our friends through a piece of glass on a metal box. Due to this lack of interaction, many people have developed a wide range of health issues that can be as fatal as smoking or obesity. In order to combat these effects, we must educate people on the harmful effects of isolation, and me must start treating it as a real problem.
